I would like to share some additional information about GreenFumeHood  
technology that I received from the Erlab Group.  In earlier messages,  there were 
some questions about testing of these new types of devices.

A  COMMUNICATION FROM ERLAB, INC. ON GREENFUMEHOOD¨ (GFH¨) WITH NEUTRODINE¨  
FILTRATION TECHNOLOGY 

In 1989, a test was ordered by the N.I.H. to be performed on  traditional 
ductless  
filtering fume hoods. The results and conclusions of this test  were then 
re-presented  
"as is" in 2004. This twenty year old test cannot seriously be taken as a  
basis to  
evaluate in 2008 the new GFH with Neutrodine  technology. 
Applying this method to every other product would be like denying any  
possibility of  
progress. Over any 20-year period, millions of products have evolved  through 
 
experimentation and research: cars, airplanes, computers, telephones,  etcÉ  
And the Neutrodine filtration system of GFH belongs in this same  category. 
In 2008, the  GFH fume hood was tested by an independent laboratory  
established  
and recognized in the U.S.A.  The tests were conducted by Intertek  
Laboratory  
(_www.intertek-labtest.com_ (http://www.intertek-labtest.com/) )  in 
accordance with the following standards: 
¥  ASHRAE 110 requirements 
¥  ANSI-Z9.5 compliance 
¥  UL, CE and electromagnetic compliance 
¥  Requirements of the new French NFX 15-211 Standard* (due to the 
non-existence of  a  
U.S. performance  standard) 
GFH met or exceeded all testing  requirements. 
*The French NFX 15-211 Standard was revised and updated in 2008 by an  
official standards committee comprising 19 specialists, comparable to the  
American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The committee included  
Chemistry  
PhDs, HVAC engineers, filtration specialists, occupational health and  safety 
 
specialists, and the standard was examined by 65 independent entities  
including: Pasteur Institute, Sanofi Aventis, Waldner, British Standards  
Institution  
(B.S.I.) and more. The NFX 15-211 Standard is not a manufacturerÕs  standard. 
It is  
the only standard in todayÕs market capable of legitimately evaluating  the 
functioning  
of a filtering fume hood according to strict results criteria. It  requires, 
for example,  
that no more than 1% of the  TLVs of each of the handled chemicals be present 
in  
the air released by the filtration system.  In other words a constant 
filtration  efficiency  
of at least 0.01 of the TLV of the chemicals  handled.
