And what an interesting range of perceptions, from the original "disaster" story to this article's "create a potentially volatile chemical reaction," which could be translated as "detonate." The other euphemism "flammable when it comes in contact with moisture" is also interesting, and perhaps not how most of us would describe the chemistry of sodium with water. John's points about "lessons" are good ones. We have suffered needless bad publicity [and expense] on more than one occasion due to similar events. It is wise to get your internal act--department/ division/organization-- together in order to minimize the chances of having to deal with such a situation and its aftermath. Steve Stepenuck
