I updated the CHAS web site at http://www.dchas.org this morning with two items: - the latest newsletter from the Safety and Health Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and - pdfs of the powerpoint files from last Friday's CHAS symposium at the ACS Northeast Regional Meeting. The topics of these presentations were: =95 Chemical Safety Levels Risk Assessment - Ralph Stuart, University of Vermont, with a draft risk assessment worksheet in Excel format =95 Transferring Air-Sensitive Reagents - Mark Potyen, Aldrich Chemical Company =95 When the Chemistry Department and EHS Journey Down the Same Road Together - N. Gail Hall, Boston College =95 Risk Assessments for the use of Hazardous Materials in Animals - Erik Talley, Weill Medical College of Cornell University with two sample Risk Assessment forms in PDF format: one for standard precautions and for one for use of MPTP =95 Update on Prudent Practices in the Laboratory - Peter Reinhardt, Yale University There a couple more of these files in the works. Note that in addition to the powerpoint files, two of these presentations have sample forms for risk assessment in the general chemistry laboratory and in animal handling situations.
