We just installed an HF hood with plastic ducts and fan parts, etc. No scru bbers or filters though. You might check with Sentry or Captair and check t heir ductless fume hoods to see if HF is an acceptable application. I have heard the filters are expensive and you must be prepared to change them at the appropriate time. The other option may be to use a Parr bomb with a Tef lon liner. The geochemistry researcher I am working with anticipates evaporating 2 liters of concentrated HF per month in a fume hood. I am interested in scrubbing technologies and if anyone has designed local exhaust systems that do not involve a fume hood. Thanks Joe Joseph R.
