Subject: Free EPA Training on the Academic Labs Rule for Hazardous Waste
(Subpart K)

As many of us know, there is a lot of ACS/DCHAS sweat invested in this rule, so it's a good thing to stay abreast of. Congratulations to the Milwaukee School of Engineering!

Should you attend?  Are you a college or university that has science
laboratories, engineering and/or technology laboratories, art studios,
or an associated teaching hospital or non-profit research institution?
Are you a state or regional regulator that needs to know more about
these new alternative hazardous waste generator regulations? Then, come
to this training on the new hazardous waste rule for laboratories at
academic institutions and learn how this rule can work for you.

Background:
EPA published the final Academic Laboratories Rule on December 1, 2008.
As states adopt the rule and eligible academic entities in those states
opt into the rule, very few institutions know the =93ins and outs=94 of the
requirements of the regulation.  EPA experts on this new regulation and
individuals experienced in the development and implementation of Subpart
K are hosting this training to provide you with information and answer
your questions.

Please join us for this important training and help us spread the word
by passing this invite along!  And, print out the attachment for a
printer-friendly version of this training announcement!
