One of our labs uses sealed borosilicateglass tubes for some experiments. A tech seals several dozen of the tubes with a torch (I know he is using oxygen, I think the fuel is propane, Iknow it is not acetylene) at one time. He was complaining about the brightness of the light, so is now wearing safety sunglasses that block 99+% UV.
Anyone have experience with something similar to this? I have seen the didymium glasses that hobbyists use for glass blowing, but I am not sure whateye protection to provide. He has tried welders goggles, but found them too dark.
Thanks,
