I'm not quite sure what Dominick is looking for. The ACS Publication, "Safety in Academic Chemistry Laboratories" Vol 2 (for faculty and administrators) briefly addresses transportation issues on pages 38-39.
Also, ACS has a publication entitled "Less is Better" that has some guidance on surplus exchange programs.
Both documents can be downloaded as a PDF from this web page: http://portal.acs.org/portal/acs/corg/content?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=PP_SUPERARTICLE&node_id=2230&use_sec=false&sec_url_var=region1&__uuid=351f206f-dbc6-4511-b4c8-96221880b90e The first is under Classroom Safety; the second is under the Laboratory Safety section. If the link doesn't work, go to the ACS home page (www.acs.org) and search for either document by title.

Subject: [DCHAS-L] Best practices for intra-departmental chemical sharing
This question came in via that DCHAS web site. I thought that the list would be the best resource to respond to Dr. Casadonte. I'll summarize any responses to the list.

Hi,
We are looking for information concerning best practices for transferring chemicals between labs in the case of an emeritus faculty member who is willing to share his chemical stock with others in the department. There is a section in Prudent Practices (pg. 92) which may be relevant, but we are wondering if ACS has anything covering this topic.
