OAKVILLE, MO (KTVI) - The woman at the center of a case that gained national attention two weeks ago, when she was arrested in a Walmart carrying what police say was a mobile meth lab, has been jailed again. And St. Louis County Police say the same woman was doing the same thing again.
Her name is Jennifer Vaughn-Culp. She was charged Tuesday evening with numerous counts of possession and manufacturing of methamphetamine. St. Louis County Police say they have now picked her up twice in possession of bottles that had meth cooking inside. It's a process that can be incredibly dangerous. The latest arrest came outside a U-Gas station at 6161 Telegraph Road in south county, just three miles from the Walmart where the first incident happened June 7.
"Both times she's in possession of a plastic bottle which we believe is used to produce methamphetimene. We call it an active lab," St. Louis County Officer Rich Eckhard said. "The chemicals are chemically reacting. There's a danger of explosion, an exposure of vapors. These officers confronted the same woman twice in a couple of weeks."

NORTHAMPTON RESIDENTS FUME OVER LACK OF WARNING BEFORE BOMB SQUAD DETONATION

NORTHAMPTON - Neighbors of the gravel pit off Ryan Road where a state bomb squad detonated explosives last week were still fuming Monday that their neighborhood was the site chosen for disposal of material removed from a vacant Springfield home.
Others remain dismayed they received no advanced warning of the explosions. The disposal last Thursday led to three separate blasts, one of which shook the homes of residents for blocks and spread fear among some that a home had blown up.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Mieth, the state's Department of Fire Services spokeswoman, Monday described the Bill Willard Inc. quarry at 1010 Ryan Road as the best place for the bomb squad to do its work because it has little public access and is remote from people and buildings.
"The site chosen was the closest, safest site for the disposal to ensure the safety of the public and the bomb squad," Mieth said.
Ward 6 City Councilor Marianne L. LaBarge wholeheartedly disagrees. She demanded an investigation and a public meeting at which residents can ask questions about the incident, and said she wants specifics on the types of chemicals removed, why they were hauled to Northampton for disposal and why the city wasn't given proper advance warning.
"I can't tell you how many people are outraged at what went on here," LaBarge said. "That this was done in the middle of a residential neighborhood and near an elementary school is really terrible."
State officials confirmed Monday that the chemicals used in making fireworks required emergency disposal to protect public safety, but said in an email that they were not toxic. The bomb squad falls under the jurisdiction of the fire marshal.
"They were energetic materials that are extremely sensitive to heat, shock and friction, which makes them dangerous, but not toxic in the way the word 'chemical' might suggest," Mieth said Monday.
The bomb squad rendered the material safe by using the least amount of product to treat the energetic material so that it was completely consumed.

CHEMICAL-LADEN LORRY CATCHES FIRE

A lorry carrying bleaching powder from Punjab was gutted in an accidental fire at New Tharugupet, a commercial hub, in the Chamarajpet police station limits here on Tuesday morning. The police said that the lorry, parked near Royan Circle, caught fire when a kerosene stove exploded. The lorry cleaner had placed the stove close to the vehicle and was cooking food for himself and the driver. Four fire tenders took more than an hour to put down the blaze. While no one was hurt, traffic was affected on the busy road for more than an hour.

Huge fire gutted a floor cleaner warehouse belongs to PT Langgeng Makmur Persada on Jl. Kapuk Raya No. 10, RT 01/03, Kapukmuara, Penjaringan, Tuesday (6/19). The fire broke out around 8 PM and it quickly enlarged due to there were many flammable materials in the warehouse. To extinguish the fire, 21 fire trucks of North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department were deployed to the scene.
"The fire was successfully put out an hour later at 9 PM. Firemen are still finding out the cause and amount of the loss in this incident," stated Head of Operation Section for North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Nurdin Silalahi, Tuesday (6/19).
He disclosed that inside the warehouse there were lots of flammable materials in type of nitrite, which is the material to make the floor cleaner. To extinguish the fire, firemen had to use 15 tubes of light fire extinguisher containing dry chemical, since the fire would grow even bigger if using water.
"The fire is difficult to put out because it has been mixed with nitrite and other chemical materials. Luckily, the firemen successfully put out the fire by using 15 tubes of light fire extinguisher containing dry chemical," explained Nurdin.
When putting out the fire, the firemen also had to use mask to protect them from smoke. "Even, lots of firemen's shoes melted in this incident. Moreover, we're also constrained to reach the scene due to traffic jam," told Nurdin.

Hinsdale, IL ÑA Willow Springs chemical company was saved on Monday because of an automatic fire sprinkler system, said the town's fire chief.
About 9:50 a.m. Monday, firefighters from Willow Springs, Pleasantview, Roberts Park and Tri-State fire departments responded to an activated fire alarm at Nexeo Solutions. Workers were evacuating the building after they reported a fire in a chemical room in the main warehouse.
A box alarm and hazmat team was called, and members found a single sprinkler head extinguished the wooden pallets and two drums of materails that caught fire.
"These systems are in place for this reason, I can not find a better example of why we require fire alarms and sprinklers,"

The entire building of Tema Chemicals Limited (Temicho) is reported to have been razed by fire.
The incident which happened, Tuesday afternoon is said to have resulted from an explosion.
Fire Officers are yet to establish the cause of the fire but witnesses attributed it to a mechanical fault from one of the company's newly purchased machines.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that at least one person has been rushed to the hospital.

GREENBURGH Ñ A worker was burned after accidentally starting a fire in the boiler room of a condominium today, officials said.
The worker was cleaning paintbrushes with gasoline in the storage room of 14 Granada Crescent when the gasoline came in contact with the open flame on the boiler, causing a small explosion, Fairview Fire Department Deputy Chief Walter Murray said.
A Greenburgh ambulance took the man to the hospital for burns on his face, ear, arms and hands, Murray said. The man works for New Dimensions Craftsmanship Company based in Wayne, N.J., and was doing work for building management, he said.

NORTH HAVEN Ñ A man who was working on a car suffered burns to his right arm when fire broke out after he tried to use a cordless drill to re-attach a fuel pump Monday evening.
William Gorman of New Haven, the operator of E & B, went to a local hospital after paramedics treated him at the scene.
Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries battling the fire and were taken to the Hospital of St. Raphael for treatment.

According to Marcarelli, Gorman was working on a car that was on a lift. He took the fuel pump off and went to get replacement parts.
"When he came back, he used a cordless drill to replace it, and the spark from the drill ignited the vapors from the fuel pump," he said.
The car fire quickly became fully involved and spread to at least one other vehicle and other commercial spaces.

HAYTI -- A Pemiscot County man received minor burns Friday following an explosion at a biodiesel plant near Hayti.
About 8:15 a.m. Friday, the Hayti Fire Department was dispatched to Natural Biodiesel Plant on State Highway J in rural Pemiscot County after the Pemiscot County Sheriff's office received a 911 call of an explosion there. The caller said a small fire had been contained at the plant, and one person was injured, according to the incident report from the sheriff's office.

SPRINGHILL TWP. Ñ The state Department of Environmental Protection is investigating a spill into Georges Creek of a lubricant similar to clay that is used in the pipeline drilling process.
DEP spokesman John Poister said an inspector from the DEP's Southwest Region Oil and Gas Program responded to the spill on June 4. Poister said the inspector confirmed that bentonite from a horizontal natural gas pipeline drill did impact the creek, so drilling has been placed on hold.
Georges Creek runs between Springhill and Nicholson townships.
The Mountain Watershed Association in Melcroft conducted a field study of the bentonite spill. The watershed association is a nonprofit group that works toward the conservation, restoration and protection of the Indian Creek Watershed in Fayette and Westmoreland counties.

TWO INJURED AFTER TRACTOR TRAILER EXPLOSION IN ANTIOCH

Fire investigators said the workers were trying to move a damaged forklift out of the semi-truck with another forklift when sparks ignited from a possible leaking propane tank. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly.
Neighbors said the explosion woke them up.
"I got up and I started looking out the window, and I saw the fire trucks and I heard the ambulances and the police cars. So I decided to come out and see what was going on, because I was a bit concerned," said Helleen Brown.
Two people were taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Officials said one person was inside the truck, and the other was outside. Both suffered second and third degree burns. No identities were released.

Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest closed its regular emergency room entrance for four hours Thursday afternoon after one of its patients appeared to have been exposed to a hazardous material, authorities said.
The patient is a Berks County woman who checked in about 2 p.m. after parking her car at the emergency room entrance. Haz-mat workers collected items from her car trunk for closer inspection, Salisbury Township Chief Allen Stiles said.
"They're being tested, and I should know sometime tomorrow what the substance was, and whether it was hazardous or not," he said.
The hospital's emergency room, which had diverted its traffic to the ambulance-bay entrance, was accepting patients again at its usual entrance by 6:15 p.m. The patient who raised the alarms remained at the hospital Thursday night.
"We had an individual come to the hospital who claimed to be exposed to some unknown substance that caused her to have symptoms," Stiles said. "A doctor in the emergency room thought there might have been an exposure to a hazardous material," and the doctor called police.

Police issued a careless driving summons this morning to a garbage truck driver following a crash that set the top of his truck on fire, according to Belvidere police.
Michael Mclagan, 44, of Phillipsburg, broke a hydraulic line while driving under the overpass on Front Street, according to Belvidere police. Mclagan continued driving, stopping near the Third Street Elementary School, where authorities quickly put out the fire.
The Warren County Hazardous Materials team cleaned up spilled hydraulic fluid, police said. The incident diverted traffic from Second and Fourth streets before the vehicle was moved to a parking lot at Fifth and Greenwich streets. Fire damage to the truck, which appeared to be from Balbi Enterprises Inc. in Blairstown, was not evident from the street, but the vehicle was towed at 1 p.m. from Fifth Street.

MURRAY, Utah Ñ Individuals at a business in Murray evacuated the building Monday afternoon after a chemical odor was detected.
Fire crews responded to the incident and several people inside the business on 5900 South and 279 East complained of lung and throat irritation. Crews found an acrylic had spilled at the business, which was being remodeled.
The chemical had leaked into the ventilation system.
Fire marshal Phil Roberts from Murray City Fire says they had to ventilate the building for about 30 minutes.
"The product is lighter than air so it'll just evaporate in the atmosphere. The clean-up will be minimal and they will be allowed back in the building and it'll be business as usual," said Roberts.
Roberts says it was an accident and the amount of acrylic spilled was minimal.

The Civil Protection Department have controlled a raging fire which is thought to have started as grass fire but quickly spread to a nearby factory at the San Gwann Industrial Estate.
Residents who spoke to di-ve.com described a series of explosions as a number of tanks containing chemicals exploded. The fire has now been controlled by the CPD and no one has been reported injured in the fire.

Amity-based state police are investigating an explosion and fire to a trailer at 3543 County Road 22, Lot #10, in the town of Andover Saturday night.
The investigation has led to the arrests of four individuals for third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine and second-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material. Three of them, Steven M. Weiss, 22, Elizabeth K. Martin, 21, and Angie M. Matison, 34, all of Andover, were arraigned this morning in town of Scio court and sent to the county jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
The fourth suspect, age 26, is in state police custody at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville awaiting discharge from treatment for first- and second-degree burns and smoke inhalation from the fire.
The fire and explosion caused extensive damage to the east side of the trailer and the cause is still under investigation by the town of Andover Fire Department and Allegany County fire investigators.

ZION, Ill. (STMW) - Officials evacuated part of Zion for almost two hours Sunday morning due to hazardous fumes from a fire that broke out at Maine Plastics.
Zion Fire Department responded to a fire at Maine Plastics, located at 1817 Kenosha Road (near the intersection of Route 173 and Kenosha Road), about 7 a.m., according to Zion Fire Chief John Lewis. A total of 35 different fire departments responded to the three-alarm fire.
Pallets containing plastic products from the plant and cardboard were on fire. The plastic contains acetol, a chemical that gives off formaldehyde, Lewis said.
