Dear Colleagues,
The ACS Laboratory Chemical and Hazardous Waste Task Force is an off-shoot of the ACS Committee on Chemical Safety. We are looking for a few people to join our task force, preferably in time for our late summer meeting.
The task force, under the leadership of Erik Talley, updated the Laboratory Waste Guide, which will be available in print later this month. Current projects include:
·
An update of the Less is Better publication regarding laboratory waste minimization is in final review.
·
An update of the Laboratory Chemical Spill Guide
is in progress.
·
A laboratory safety survey is in its first draft.
·
A white paper on health and safety considerations for open lab design is slated to begin at the summer meeting.
The task force meets via phone a few times a year, in person once a year and keeps in touch via a listserv in the interim.
If you are interested in working with the task force, please contact me via e-mail (rmizzo**At_Symbol_Here**princeton.edu) or by phone at 609-258-6259.
Cheers,
Robin Izzo

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer
much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
~ Theodore Roosevelt
