I have a course for lab safety awareness for non lab staff - maintenance, contractors, etc. The handout (essentially my slides) are on the web: http://www.stonybrook.edu/ehs/training/courses.shtml?els008
Good morning everyone,
We are looking to see if anyone has a written guidance, procedure or policy document that may be shared for custodial and craft skills staff when working in a lab situation? What training that might be provided beyond HazCom? This is for any type of lab: chemical, biological (up to BSL3 level), engineering, agricultural (greenhouses), small and large animal (mice to elk), Nano-particles, laser, radiological labs and teaching labs.
The question came up here when there was a request from a lab to have the floors cleaned. What is the responsibility of the lab (removing of items from the floor, hood or area if wall were to be painted before any work is started by physical plant personnel?
