Focus on the "flammable safe" versions... if one is really needed.Used ones may be a bit more reasonable but in general they cost quite a bit...
- why refrigerate? Just keep solvents capped/sealed and in a small flammables cabinet... or even a small dessicator. The solvents don't evaporate or absorb water if properly sealed. You can buy a lot of NMR solvents in small ampules for the cost of a "safe" refrigerator...
Just a thought...JPSent from my iPad john palmerWe have an area near our new NMR where we will be storing deuterated organic solvents. I have convinced my colleague who is in charge of the NMR that we can't use a simple dorm fridge for storing the small volumes of solvents. But I would love to follow up with him on any iinfo all of you could provide about inexpensive small (5 cu ft) flammable storage refrigerators or explosion proof fridges.
Grateful for any help,
Kyle Strode
