Benzene is miscible with : chloroform, ethers, CS2, acetone, acetic acid, CCl4 and the good news is that all of them are toxic. Also we should consider all kind of halogenated aromatics or polyaromatics.

I need the collective wisdom of the group…
I’m trying to think of any chemical that is soluble in benzene and has NO significant hazardous characteristics other than toxicity (i.e.,
not flammable, corrosive, water-reactive, etc.). However, the more toxic it is, the better…
I do not want the actual chemical – just the name. I’m trying to create a hypothetical “what-if” scenario for an upcoming discussion about responding to chemical spills in a laboratory.
