Update from Quad-City (IA/IL) newspaper  - the fire is at a fertilizer storage facility and the concern is with sulfuric acid on site:

Fire spurs evacuation of Iowa town

(CNN) -- The Iowa town of Northwood has been evacuated because of a chemical fire, according to Lucinda Robertson, a spokeswoman with Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
The fire is by the local airport. It's unclear if anyone has been injured.
The population of the town is about 2,000 people, according to Northwood Area Chamber of Commerce.
