Good, then you can tell us if that wording is still in the 2011 NFPA 45.
I have been trying for the last half hour to see my free read-only version and keep getting a pop up that tells me my security system is blocking this application. Well, dang, I don't have any such system on my computer and have never had this pop up before. I've call my guru for help, but I am eyeing that baseball bat standing in the corner behind the door.

I would like to mention that NFPA 45: Standard on Fire Protection for Laboratories Using Chemicals (current edition: 2011) is in
the process of revision. The next edition is scheduled for 2015.

Look at this NIH policy document on ductless hoods.. It is from 2005. That is where I got the NFPA reference for NFPA 45. It is section 6.4.1.
