Betty,
May I suggest contacting a refinery or pulp mill for the specifications that they used when they installed loudspeakers as components of their plant-wide warning systems for compliance with the Process Safety Management rule? The hardware must be capable of withstanding a range of weather and environmental conditions.
A challenge with loudspeaker systems and similar audible warning devices is that they must be periodically tested. At the refineries, that requires a weekly test.
