Environmental Protection Agency and hazardous materials officials responded to Duke Energy's Clermont County power station Monday night for the report of a chemical leak.

All three men, who worked at
Engine 39, Ladder 18, on D Street in South Boston, traced the decline in their health to a raging fire, fed by mineral oil, inside a huge power plant, formerly owned by Edison, at the edge of Southie.
‰??At first, we thought a plane had flown into the plant,‰?? said Foscaldo, ‰??because it was just a year after 9/11. It was surreal inside there. It was fire that wouldn‰??t go out, fed by oil that kept these six-story turbines moving.‰??
The shower of oil that rained down on them flooded their respirators and broke the seals on their face masks. ‰??I must have spent two hours inside there with my mask off,‰?? Foscaldo recalled. ‰??I just couldn‰??t keep it on.‰??

SOUTH BAY, Fla. (CBS12) -- Crews are working to clean up a spill after a chemical leak at the Okeelanta Sugar Mill.
Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said a leak appeared in a 4000-gallon phosphoric acid container that was about half full.
This happened around 4:30 a.m.
An estimated 500 to 1000 gallons of product leaked into an isolated containment area, according to Capt. Albert Borroto with PBC Fire Rescue.
A third-party contractor has been called in to pump out the acid.
Authorities say the chemicals posed no danger to the public or workers.

HASH OIL EXPLOSION CAUSED TIGARD GAS STATION FIRE

A fire in a gas station bathroom may have been started accidentally by two men attempting to make butane hash oil, according to Tigard police.
Police responded to calls of an explosion and a fire shortly after 1:50 a.m. on Nov. 23, at a 76 gas station in Tigard, located at 10775 SW Greenburg Road. Investigators determined that the blaze started when two men tried to use lighter fluid to extract the active chemical compounds from marijuana ‰?? a dangerous process that police said has led to similar fires in the past.
Two Tigard men, Dennis Tapia, 18, and Jose Rios, 23, received treatment for burn-related injuries at Providence St. Vincent Legacy as they were questioned by police.

At least 100 employees from Air Liquide in Plumstead were evacuated during a hazardous materials emergency that shut down Route 611 north of Stump Road Monday morning.
Plumsteadville Fire Chief Brian DuBree said no one was injured, and the Bucks County Hazmat team was called to the scene to secure the building at 6141 Easton Road.
A worker on the scene said the company is a manufacturer of industrial, medical and specialty gases.
Employees noticed the leak shortly after 9:30 a.m. and emergency personnel were called to the scene, said Heather Brown, spokeswoman for the Plumstead company.
‰??Our first priority was to make sure the scene was secure, evacuated and safe,‰?? said Brown, who added more details on the type of chemical released would be disclosed later.
DuBree reported that it was some kind of liquid chlorine gas leak.
Brown confirmed that it was ‰??an apparent release from a single onsite cylinder.‰??
