At the ACS National Meeting in Boston in August, there will be a full day DCHAS symposium discussing the 25 year history of the OSHA Lab Standard from a variety of points of view.
One of papers will discuss how the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Chemical Hygiene Officer requirements have been implemented and how effective those mechanisms have been in addressing technical and cultural needs in laboratory safety programs. To help gather information for this paper, we are looking for people to take a short (18 question) survey on this topic. We have two key audiences in mind:
1. organizational Environmental Health and Safety staff
2. laboratory safety representatives - people whose primary responsibilities are related to day-to-day laboratory operations, but also have responsibilities for safety support in their laboratory.

The survey responses will be anonymous; however if a specific organization would like to have the answers from their staff segregated so that you can compare responses from your organization to the overall results, I can arrange for separate collection sites upon request.
