I have a researcher who dispenses hydrochloric acid from a bottle using a pump dialed to the amount needed for the process, so that risk of spill and exposure is minimized. Even though the pump is designed for use with corrosive materials,
the cap has become a bit deformed and is no longer sealing tightly. This is the second cap the researcher has used. She’s trying to find a solution to this issue. I’m wondering if it could be a vapor build up in the bottle that is finding its way out through
the cap?
Does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas of how we might solve the issue? I’ve never had experience with using a pump with acid, we always just poured it up.
Thank you,
