April,


1. Yes, and we also require labs to complete self-inspections annually. 

2. General, Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Laser, PPE, Emergency (some sections do not apply to all labs). We do one comprehensive inspection when we visit a lab.

3. On average, 18 months, but we strive for annual inspections (additionally, radiation is inspected on a quarterly basis, per requirements in our license)

4. Agree with Chris on justifications. We also use inspections to educate and train our lab personnel on regulatory and best practices (one on one training).

1. Yes

2. General, chemical, and waste.

3. Annually.

4. To prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, building codes, fire codes and more. The lab safety standard recommends regular inspections and fume hood evals I think. It up to us to determine how we want to apply it. I can get you the exact reference on Monday.
