CDC's Laboratory Leadership Service (LLS) Fellowship Program

The CDC's Laboratory Leadership Service (LLS) Fellowship Program seeks rising laboratory scientists to participate in this 2-year laboratory training fellowship that provides a strong foundation for future leadership and management.

The application period for the 2018 class is from April 20-July 17, 2017!

LLS combines competency-based laboratory training with practical, applied investigations and public health service. LLS fellows work in CDC and state and local public health laboratories, serving the agency and its partners by applying creative and effective strategies to real world public health scenarios. LLS is led by the Division of Scientific Education and Professional Development (DSEPD) in the Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Laboratory Services (CSELS).

Who can apply?
LLS is open to scientists who hold a doctoral-level degree in a public health laboratory related discipline and have 2 years of post-graduate laboratory experience. Other health professionals are welcome to apply but must also hold an appropriate doctoral-level degree. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and willing to commit to a 2-year fellowship.

This fellowship:
Provides high-quality training that focuses on biosafety, quality management systems, and management and leadership competencies.
Includes a unique curriculum, core activities for learning, and mentorship to focus on the requirements of public health laboratories.
Aligns with CDC's Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) program to promote interdisciplinary training, applied learning, and networking between laboratory scientists and epidemiologists.
