This commentary by the United Steelworkers Union calls for a delay in action by the California South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) concerning elimination of modified hydrofluoric acid (MHF) at the PBF refinery in Torrance (and, by extension, perhaps at the Valero Wilmington refinery as well), until the change to ionic liquid catalyst at Chevron's Salt Lake refinery is proven successful (which will take several years):
What will the response be by local activist groups (like the Torrance Refinery Action Alliance), not to mention politicians & the AQMD?
