This is great to hear; as I mentioned in my last post, I see leadership turnover as a key challenge in managing a successful safety program. Maintaining a balanced partnership between academic "line management" interest in safety and specialized EHS support from the administrative staff side is one way that I have seen this work survive as upper management churn occurs.

This partnership is often framed in terms of how both sides contribute to the specific institution's interpretation of the general academic mission of "teaching, research and service". Fortunately, at Keene State, the largest major on campus is in Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences, so that connection is not hard to make in our institution.
