I'm not an educator, but my kids school uses Google Classroom for distance learning, which is a free app.

Here's a link to Google's Teacher Center where you can find distance learning resources. https://teachercenter.withgoogle.com/

I don't know how much it costs to get Google's G-Suite, but if you have itÉ they are making Hangouts Meet free to G-Suite users thru July 1st in an effort to facilitate distance learning. Please note that Hangouts Meet paid app (WebEx analog) is not the same as the Hangouts free app (FaceTime analog).

Monona,

I have used Zoom, BlueJeans, Skype, LiveScribe, and Google Hangouts to do distance learning.  The best one for me has been Zoom.  The worst for running a course with Powerpoint slides has been Google Hangouts.  What options do you have available to you already?  And, are you on Mac or PC?  My Mac people use completely different stuff than I do, but they seem to be happy.

Best,

 Monique

Then maybe you can point me in the right direction.  I am also going to have to take this tack.  I need a conferencing system that can do the following:

When the student calls in, they see slide # 1 of my powerpoint on their screen and I can hear their voice and talk to them.  As each one signs in, we'll talk and I'll take attendance.  Then we'll go slide by side through the power point, I'll explain the technical material and answer questions.  I've never done anything on line this way, but this is what I need.  Ideas?

The last couple of days have been really crazy - and I am scrambling to make sure my folks have the resources to convert to virtual/online learning.  Additionally, I know that the small businesses and others are doing the same thing.

I was wondering if should send out the links to our folks about the resources we have in place already.
