I had not seen that, and have no experience of the product but if it performs as they claim they would be derelict if they did not immediately seek NIOSH testing and certification. Since the HEPA filter is not transparent, I don’t see how the UV component can be relied upon to sanitize the filter.

 

Regardless, as long as it has an exhalation value it will be unsuitable for use by the general public during this COVID crisis since what we need there is source control above all else. Perhaps it might be helpful, if NIOSH Certified, for medical personnel working in a COVID ward, where the primary need is protection of the medical personnel.
