1. With headphones on employees may not hear emergency signals or warnings from coworkers. 2. Listening to tapes, CDs, etc. will distract employees and increase teh likelihood of an error. 3. Although some earphones can be designed to be less than 80 dB, most are or can be played much louder which can lead to hearing loss (which would be taged as work related).
