If you are interested in learning the approach we are taking at Yale with respect to handling pyrophoric liquids (and specifically organolitium compounds), you can take a look at the training program we have put together [link below] .  We are (for the most part ) consistent with the procedures found in Sigma Aldrich's technical documents but more restrictive in some areas and slightly less in others.  We have t ried to address the safety issues in a very practical way.   If you ha ve any comments on our approach (or our training program), feel free to contac t Cathy King, Paula Castagna or myself.
